The closest I'd get would be 5 or 6 cars lengths back--just enough to get a little "bump." But it is pretty amazing what can be done just by driving differently. I thought I'd reached the limts of physics when it did 22 mpg (EPA highway is only 19), but aparently a very un-aerodynamic car responds well to even small decreases in speed. I suspect Saabs probably wouldn't see such dramatic gains.
