I know you sincerely want to believe that - GM is big and easy to cast as the bad guy. But no facts suggest that.

VM spent the last 7 months trying different versions of breaking his contract. He really could of sought ways to fund Saab that GM hadn't clearly said they wouldn't support. But VM didn't - he kept trying a China solution.

If you look at Saab as a sports team, and then support ANYTHING your team does, them VM is your hero and GM is the big mean enemy from away.

If you look at Saab as a business, there is a completely different picture. When VM bought Saab he received a company with no debt. Under VM Saab sold few cars, and incurred massive debt. They ran out of money early this year, and since then VM has tried to sell to China, a solution his largest shareholder and supplier said they would not support. This was a strategy that couldn't end well. And here we are.
