at all. GM's choke hold is on whether it would allow continued licensing of technology and products to Saab (and the new owner). A BMW ownership of Saab would not require any technology transfer at all. BMW can buy the brand and factory, tool it up for a larger family sized car based on the new Mini platform or the one they have already been working on for the upcoming BMW entry level FWD platform, then slap the Saab label on it to be sold both at existing Saab dealerships and BMW dealerships alongside Mini's and BMW's until more dealerships sign up in the south and the interior of the country. In fact, either one of the two BMW/Mini platforms would probably sell more Saab's than continued use of GM platforms.
