What do you mean by a localized dent? Do you mean does the dent drag as if something was scraping along? Given the angles and metal panels versus plastic bumper I'm not sure this could be conclusive.
The bumper on the Jeep is pretty big along the corner/side. I'm going from memory and poor night visibility, but I've got a decent dent at the impact spot and then some paint rub as her bumper compressed along my car. Her bumper popped back out but had paint damage right at the corner. I didn't see any of my paint on her car. I can't tell at night if there is a secondary dent or just the main one. It sort of impacted right at the door hinge/mirror and so might have dented on both sides rather than denting the door edge.
I buy insurance directly so I don't have a true agent that doesn't work for the insurer.
