took a quick look where some of those places are... ohio, upstate new york (near rochester), middlesex is probably further still... actually, for many vermont/maine/nh residents, if there's nothing else, I'd think a trip across the border for a poutine + pepsi would be as easy! Places like Sherbrooke, Magog, Coaticook have rust check dealers + are very close to the border.
Interestingly typing rust check usa in google maps brings up a bunch of hits in Indiana and Minnesota...
So I think there are some dealers in the US, but it's spotty, you might just have to look hard... for some, DIY might work: there's spray cans available + also non-aerosols if you have spray equipment... but it's messy - need a place to do it... the aerosols are handy for touchups... I just had rear shocks out on the 9-5 and sprayed up in the towers + fender areas yesterday... there's a cavity that seems to collect road debris + cause rust in front of the rear fenders on the 9-3 and 9-5... rusts from the inside out. I was poking at mine (2004 looks great outside) and found minor issues there/sprayed... btw, not everyone sprays their cars here we just got the 9-5 last year + it had never been sprayed + was pretty good for rust (only very minor surface rust, nothing obvious on the outside)... just a little better than our annually sprayed 1993... I've seen 9-5's with more rust than our 1993...
