Thanks for advice - a lot of nice people on the board shared kind thoughts - particularily since I admittedly am not the friendliest bike rider - but I do generally stop and offer help to fellow bikers with issues.
So the accident was a result of recklessness and stupidity. not to get into old man aging issues but I lucked out from an injury standoint as the shoulder I hit was one that I've spent the last 5 months rehabing from partial torn rotator cuff - I landed more on the upper back and top part of the shoulder and it's sore and bruised but with full range of motion.
Convinced wife to do a backpack trip with me - her 1st in 23 yrs, leaving monday so have to heal quickly.
