For your 2007 9-3, the H, or more so the V, would probably be more suitable than the i3 which is a T rated summer. It's not so much a matter of them saying the entire is better than the i3, but that there is no other choice because they have stopped shipping *all* their summer tires (including the Z!) to North America due to low demand. If those who are interested ask, they can special order + may restock them in the future, but I think they have concluded that folks here mostly want all seasons, and some of us also want snow tires (which is where Nokian really excels). The entire is LRR, so they have a bit of a niche there with the prius crowd. Their high performance summers are also LRR (and all the other "green" features of the entire but with more performance), so you'd think they'd have a niche there, but it doesn't seem to be big enough... it probably doesn't help that their tires cost significantly more than the cheap brands and as much or more than really established brand names (Michelin et al)... too many people want big rims and then cheap out on tires...
Actually, their whole summer line went from highly water channeling designs (like NRH2) to LRR as fuel costs have risen and "green" has become popular... but they claim the newer tires are better vs hydroplaning than the old anyway... I suppose they make up for it with deep wide central grooves... I liked the NRH2 for the excellent and predictable handling, accommodation of water, and clear tread depth indication... the green stuff is nice, but not a primary interest for me...
The downside of the current Nokians other than the entire and the hakkas is that they are asymmetric... which might be good for tire performance, but SAABs (being FWD) tend to eat the outside edges of tires... so you'll go through tires faster if you can't flip them over the rim... I will have this issue with PSS as well. There were very few symmetric summer/all season tires I was interested in for the 9-5 (that met the load rating).
