That explains the turpentine... thank you! I was wondering because some who do traditional window work like to use linseed oil based paints so they can paint quickly after the putty application... even with a good oil primer I have had checking if I don't allow the putty to dry for close to a week... that obviously is a work flow issue...
have you tried a water based (or even hybrid) primer over the linseed oil/turpentine? would be very interesting to hear how that held up... if the adhesion is better or worse etc?
