I too would spring for the extra few bucks to buy the USA made hand tools. I was shopping for the breaker bar and 17mm deep socket for the wheel lugs, and the ones from China at Lowes were nice, but I drove over to Sears to check out the Craftsman, they were about 6 dollars more for the set, but since I would have to drive back to Lowes, I just bought the Sears and patted myself on the back for buying American. They have had the "B" line of tools for years,I think they have blue grips on them and I avoided them always.
Far as I know Channel Lock tools are true American still. For one. Oh well. Damn shame, we send them our steel and they send us back tools? We need some tools to fix this country soon.
