Does it not work in either position? If so, it would seem like the switch itself has gone bad, though I'm not sure how. If was working before and you didn't change the wiring of the dimmer, I don't see how the wiring of the other switch could be reversed and still function correctly. L1 and L2 are the same, so as long as L1 connects to L1 and L2 to L2 on each switch, it's the same. If one was switched with COM, then the on-off wouldn't function correctly, but you say it does. Is yours hooked up as per the second diagram from the link below?
