I grew up in a powder blue 1965 Peugeot 404 wagon, w/ column mounted shifter. My family was living in Istanbul at the time; we picked up the Peugeot new in Paris on our way back from the states (along w/ Peugeot bikes for my brother and I) and drove to Istanbul through Eastern (communist) Europe. I remember the yellow headlights in particular, and the fact that a Peugeot won the African Rally. It was tough, and handled the cobblestone and dirt roads that were common in Turkey.
