Well, at least the vehicle gave its life for an occupant regardless of fault. I would rather see a Saab totalled due to protecting an occupant vs neglect.
In the last three months, I have unfortunately had seven clients decide to send their OG9-5(x4), OG9-3(x2), 9-3SS(x1) to the scrapper/junkyard due to needing major mechanical repairs along with a laundry list of other items needing attention. Usually a blown engine from a severe unrepaired oil leak or sludge from infrequent oil changes. Being Forida vehicles they usually completely rust free and in decent to fair condition. Two were in very very poor condition however.
These vehicles have become so cheap on the used car market, they are disposable when a $1500-$3000 repair bill becomes a reality for a replacement engine or transmission. Most owners had no idea they were $36k+ when new and have parts and specialized labor pricing which reflect that original price.
