My eldest daughter learned to drive in my wife's Exploder and also in my 9K. We sort of alternated rides during training drives. She did okay, but fortunately we live in a semi-rural area so she didn't have to deal with a lot of traffic. But did have to start from a stop on few hills.
Her first car was an 9K automatic but she longed for a 5-speed, and had my car out on the left coast for 16 months. We drove across the country together, and after a couple of days she had it nailed. Her present ride is a stick--an '00 9-3SE.
He sister, who is more coordinated, has more trouble with a stick and prefers an automatic. She can drive a stick, but doesn't like it at all.
