I'm a little bit concerned that my '94 c900 Commemorative Edition isn't insured properly for what it is. KBB gives it a private party value in Excellent condition of $2,900, and I would hardly say mine is even in "excellent" condition. But I paid a lot more than $2,900, understanding that it's got some collectability factor. Should anything ever happen to it, I want to be paid out a lot more than $2,900. Especially as it progresses through my (very slow) restoration process.
I thought it qualified for classic car insurance. It just hit 20 years old, it's a secondary car for recreational purposes, and it's always garaged. I started an online application with Hagerty (which, by the way, called it a "Commercial Edition") but then they said they wouldn't insure anything worth less than $10k. I think I'd want about $5,000 (or a little more) for mine.
Does anyone have classic car insurance on their 900 or other car worth less than $10k? What's the scoop? Thanks!
