I'd like some opinions on a situation. My 97 9000CS is in good shape runs well but has the typical new england open rust bubbles around rear wheel arches. A well regarded boston area body shop quoted $850 to fix the two quarter panels. I am uncertain of going ahead with the work because I'm retiring next year and am thinking maybe that $850 would be better invested in the 401k. I just really dislike driving around with open rust. I'm thinking of purchasing a newer car upon retirement and possibly selling the 9000.
What would you do in a similar situation?
Thanks
