I am almost in the same situation as I am about to pass my 9000 off to my daughter.
Have looked at a few BMW's & Volvo's.
I am having a hard time resisting buying a used Saab as they are turning up around here very reasonably priced.
But..I don't know anything about the newer 9-5's, etc.
