Automatic System Upgrades turned on? Posted by Bill Homer [Email] (#3427) [Profile/Gallery] (more from Bill Homer) on Sat, 24 Jan 2015 11:17:37 In Reply to: Re: Do you have a wired mouse? Perhaps your machine's software was "upgraded" by one of MS's automatic upgrades that they send out on a regular basis? A final, "Hail Mary" zinger of an update? Perhaps you can do a system restore and go pack to a restore point before the trouble started - then turn off automatic upgrades.
I was not aware that MS stopped supporting Win7 - so much for my idea of migrating this XP machine (which still works fine!) to that release. Not anxious to install Win8 (have this at work, hate it), and the release of Win10 has been pushed back to September-ish.
Ending support on two OSs in nine months - thanks Microsoft!
