Near Little Rock. Engine grenaded itself on a trip back to VA from Dallas for a summer job when I was in college. Hated that car.
Ended up buying a 72 Mercury Capri 4 cylinder off a used car lot that was great car. Drove it for 4 years, used it for geologic field work on Jeep trails in the mountains, it was unstoppable. Even when it croaked it did so gracefully. Engine block cracked during the last sub-zero winter before I got my MS. Even then it would go about 5-10 miles before overheating (even thought he oil and antifreeze were gelatinous goo). That was far enough to get me to and from class and to a parties etc. on the weekends.
That car lasted until the weekend my parents showed up for graduation and bought me another beater as a graduation gift. Coincidentally, we went down to the used car lot and there was a freshly repainted 1972 V-6 Mercury Capri. Drove that baby for 5 years until it developed some electrical problem, then sold it to a kid for a $1. He was ectstatic.
