I've never been to the Bluegrass Festival but folks I've talked to several that have gone to both and express the same sentiments as you - less crowed at Blues n Blues and overall better experience, my son has worked for the promoter for the past 5 yrs and we get VIP and backstage passes and deals on lodging. Promoter is a great guy and smart about the festival - only 5 people arrested this yr. Weather was 65+ deegrees, nice but I miss when it rains and snows and you get to see people falling down drunk in the mud from the beer tasting on Sat.
Got to see where Tom Cruises 59M property is on the rode to Bridal Vail falls and those small quaint Victorian houses on Pacific avenue - $2m and up.
Spent on night in a tent up on the way down on Owl Creek Pass - pretty valley.
