Yeah I see your point as the ad is not much different from a lot of marketing where dubious claims or overall legitimacy is often questionable or in some way misrepresented. I've seen the ad too many times and still find it annoying.
In the end I most enjoyed this analytical gem from the newswheel article:
"In most of these ads, a group of real people who are real dumb are gathered together to be part of a focus group, which is led by a soft-spoken, sandy-haired man with a handy clipboard and even handier smug sense of superiority."
