BMW 320i - loved it, handles great, but price goes up a lot for some basic options like split fold rear seat.
Audi A4 - out of my price range
Mercedes Benz C class or CLA - didn't look at
Jaguar XE - didn't look at, but like what I see
Volvo S60 - very low windshield and small backseat. Might still go back to look at a V60 when lease is up
Acura TLX - this is what I now have. Not a saab, but a good highway car, comfy and reasonably quick. Best auto Trans and cabin room out of the bunch
VW Passat - feels cheap
Mazda 6 - nice interior, no power (if they add a turbo, this car would be a winner)
Nissan Altima - didn't look at
Ford Fusion - good power, but strange layout. Just didn't feel right
Honda Accord - very similar to the acura, but didn't like trans, and no split folding rear seat

All in all, wished I had jumped on a leftover BMW 320xi, had the options I wanted and just a nice driving car.
I've been happy enough with the Acura. I do miss the flexibility of a hatch or wagon and really miss stickshift, but agreed with wife to have auto for now... Would recommend the Acura to anyone, even though it is a little boring

Its amazing how difficult a search this is. Friends and family got very sick of me talking about it.
