my favorite SAAB has to be my first SAAB. well, technically my father's first SAAB. i was 12 years old in 1976 and kept insisting that my dad take me to Beach Imports in Newport Beach, California to see and sit in the SAABs that they had on their lot. and after reading the "engineering features of the SAAB 99" book over and over, i successfully convinced my dad to by a 99GLE automatic in metallic brown. i can still remember how solid the car was. like a little rock. eventually, a few years later, it became my first SAAB too. for our family, it has been SAABs every since. including an iconic black 1980 900turbo, a 900 convertible, several 9000s, a couple of 9-3s, and a few 9-5s.
