My first car was a 1985 Saab 900 base sedan 8v with the 3-speed automatic. My aunt bought it in 1988, gave it to my grandparents in 1992 when she moved to NYC. They gave it to me in 2000 for my 16th birthday. Before driving it, I would have rather had a Mustang, but my mom told me that it was either the Saab or the bus. One drive, and the handing, stability, and sturdiness had me hooked. Not to mention, how cool it was to have the ignition between the seats. I've had 2 more Saabs since. A 1996 900S convertible, and a 1992 900 2.1 base 5-speed hatch.
