Thanks for the input Roger. We usually take US23 (avoiding hitting Ann Arbor at rush hour if possible), which merges with I75 at Flint and then come off on M-72 at Grayling. That is consistently the quickest way. I have done the I-94-Jackson-Lansing_Clare-Cadillac route too when 75 has been a mess, or even just come of on M10 at Midland and cut across that way. We're making the trip up North about every 3rd weekend right now (in an always packed full Ford Excursion!) so I think I could do the drive blindfolded.
