Dewalt is a fine option for any power tool. 1/4 inch, is in my mind what would define an impact "driver" vs "impact wrench"... Thus 1/4 would be the right size for an impact driver.
In my experience with a 1/4 impact driver at my work tool box (I do not have one at home) I would likely never really use it for my medium level diy car work. I love my 1/2" impact wrench for all suspension, subframe work, brake caliper removal on my east coast cars...the big boy stuff.
The driver I could see being useful if I had like 3 engine rebuilds going on at once...but maybe I'm missing something. I am interested to see other's thoughts. I think I'd rather have a battery powered ratchet before an impact driver for car stuff...That allows for nut removal in tight space without the ratchet swing clearance. The impact driver cant get too many bolts on a car that would require an impact really as far as I have imagined it.
but dewalt is a good tool in my experience.
