I couldn’t find anything concerning that issue via the CarFax and AutoCheck as both provide limited information, of course, or by calling a Volvo dealer with the VIN and asking about warranty repairs.

Nothing showed up on the code reader and the engine did not make a sound indicative of the balance shaft issue you repaired.

The car was in excellent condition and the previous owner apparently was a local woman (receipt in glove box) with a small dog (hairs in the trunk). Like I said, the purchase of a 4-cylinder S60 is an exercise in faith.

I put new oil in it. I’ll get it down to you in a few weeks so you can sniff around it. Maybe a coolant change, transmission fluid change, and more is in order.
