Saab 9-5's are pretty resistant to corrosion. Saab did a great job. What we see today is generally due to neglect and a lack of time/knowledge on behalf of owners like myself. For instance, almost all the rust I have could have avoided by a good day of stripping the inner fender liners and front uncovers and putting the car on a hoist and spraying a thick layer of Krown corrosion proofing everwhere, especially dog legs and various brake and ATF lines. Had to be done when I first go my 95's. They were typically about 6 to 8 yrs old. Lower inner trunk lid, inner fenders, inner doors, etc the usual full Canuck Monty. They would essentially be salt indestructible *exceptions apply, no guarantee of total success, subject to vehicular condition at the time of application*
