Thanks to a lot of help from Claude AI, I've coded new tools to identify and ban AI bots automatically. I reset the block file in early June and started fresh because I had some services blocked that needed to be open and now Claude's code protects those services from getting blocked. In addition, for the occasional false positives, the site error message will show you a link to a "Get Access" page where you can have your IP checked and quickly un-banned so you get practically instant access restored to the site. You would not believe how many people simply REFUSE to read the site's error messages - there is a part of this work that is absolutely thankless, but then there are the site's Full Site Members who make it possible for me to do this work and there are many many thank you's too.
Since early June, Claude's code (at my direction and using some of my old code too) has detected and blocked 1.7 million AI bots. If you read JerseySaab's post below, it's notes other sites are having this same problem. There is a lot of software on phones and computers that has built in bot/redirecting technology, most all of it on Android-based devices and Windows computers. People don't know that they have their computers and phones hijacked and are participating using their own bandwidth in scraping the open web.
