$$ How much will this job pay ? Is it a good career move ? To live comfortably in Manhattan I think you need to make 100K (unless you want to live in a dump, a marginal neighborhood or have a roommate or 2). Will the company pay relocation expenses because real estate broker fees will kill you ? Also, remember that rent in Manhattan for a decent sized 1 bedroom apt. in a nice neighborhood in a decent building will cost $1,500.00 to 2,000.00 USD per month. Guess what, the 'burbs aren't much cheaper. By the time you factor in a monthly train pass, car expenses and the time it takes to commute I think the cost is comparable. I'm from Brooklyn and I've lived my whole life here. In my opinion, the city takes more than it gives. Come visit and get a vibe for what you'll be getting yourself into.
