... even for front-wheel-drive cars. The reasoning is that less grip on the rear is dangerous. I have ignored this on occasion and not suffered any ill effect, but not noticed any advantage either. Then again, I never have brand new tyres and very worn tyres on the car at the same time.
Never heard of Car Talk. Is that an American thing?
