crude turbo setup, hanging on the side of a 2.3L Pinto engine. Pretty easy to adjust the boost though, just like on old saabs, change the length of the wastegate rod. Friend of mine had one, took us three times under the hood cranking up more and more boost and joyriding around the neighborhood to blow it up, just melted the pistons. Ended up sticking some random 2.3 in it and selling it to a guy who was so rotund he couldn't even sit in it.
Turbo K-cars were junk too, no personal experience with 'em though.
I would agree with some of Justin V.A's points about mitsubishi's though. I used to really lust after the Starion's with the bulging fenders, I always thought they looked pretty sharp. For a brief time I had an 89 Plymouth minivan for a company car, it had the 2.6L and 89 was the only year the VNT turbo was used for that vehicle. Didn't get very good mileage, but that van would lay down some nice rubber!
