Flint seems to have a problem with the key being between the seats, as if that's a big deal. I'd always driven cars with the key on the steering column, and when I got an OG 900, it took me, oh, about a day to get used to it. It's like if you go to a restaurant and the salt and pepper are in a different place on the table than where you have them at home. You just adapt, and most people don't make any noise about it. It's not like the ignition switch is in the glovebox.
Saabs are not nearly as quirky as Porsches, but you don't hear anybody calling Porsches quirky. Saabs are called quirky because somebody started calling them this (probably Consumer Reports), and those without any imagination followed suit. With this type of approach to journalism, I think this guy's writing can basically be ignored.
