I apologize for not fully knowing about the 4WD before commenting. You are correct and it is AWD 4 high. Should have been more informed.
This is not saying much for my sister but I asked her how the Disco was in the snow and she said "excellent" and I havn't even put it 4WD yet as I dont know how. Your post set us both straight!!

She must have been daydreaming when she took delivery last month.

I agree 4WD LOW is hardly ever needed and the shifting for 4WD LOW is the same for the Trooper.

That being said I really like the way the Disco looks and love the driving position. If it were my money though I would spend $25K for the Trooper or Montero and pocket the remaining $15K. I expect to pay a premium for the Disco becasue its a Land Rover but I cant justify the extra $15K for it.

In my town the majority of Disco owners do take it on the beach. My sister loves the car to death and her only negative comment to me is about how she has to select the "exterior temp." every time she gets in the car. (Based on her knowledge about AWD I bet this can be customized by reading the manual).
