I drove alongside one coming to work in the morning and I was in my wife's 9-5 Aero. This thing looks imposing but unlike a Ford Explorer, it is much more car like, yes in the same category as the Volvo XC-90 but better looking, at least to me (relatively speaking of course).
The FX 45 is higher than I thought from the TV commercial. From my driver seat, it is tall. It certainly is distinctive looking. I don't know how things are inside, but if there is any similarity with the Q45, then it should be very nice inside, not top-notch as in the MB S-Class but nice.
I think it is everything rolled into one package and I think that is the "thing" to come. As we all clearly know what a sedan, or a wagon, or a SUV, etc. should look like. This "thing" is just different.
This "thing" should deserve a name other than known as a cross-over vehicle.
Think about it, it has room, four doors, all wheel drive, a bit taller than a sedan, shorter than your regular SUV, more power and torque than your average sports sedan. What else do you want from this "thing" ?
Yes, to me, it doesn't look pretty, but it sure is different.
