Thanks all for the responses. I actually got a summons, which if I don't do anything a defualt judgement would be set against me so I know I need to prove I am not the owner. I called the dealer where I traded that car and spoke with them to get any document that releases my liability. They said the federal odomoter statement would suffice, but they wanted to figure out what happened. They typed the VIN of my Viggen into the DMV system and sure enough it lists me as the owner of the vehicle. I was stunned. The dealer said the wholesaler must have been laszy with the title info etc. Good news is that both myself and the dealer have all the proper proof needed to show that the car was traded and the dealer said they would take all responsibility (as they should) to make sure this is cleared up. I am going to send them a copy of the summons and they are going to have their legal folks take care of it and send me all the proper documents to clear me of the matter at their cost. If I am not happy with the results I will get my own attorney and have them make sure the dealer takes care of correctly and have him send the bill to the dealer.

We shall see...
