My aunt used to have a 1999 Audi A4 2.8 Quattro. I used to find excuses for her to let me drive it: "Do you need a gallon of milk from the store?" Anyway, the 2.8 liter V6 with quattro was very responsive in the A4. I loved the speed and it may sound weird but the exhaust note that 2.8 liter engine made was so cool. I know the A6 is considerably heavier but I would imagine it would still have enough oomph. I would say that car was considerably faster than my 9-5 3.0t V6. She traded the A4 in for a 2006 Acura MDX and she said the A4 was incredible in snow compared to the MDX. Her husband still has his 2001 A6, but with the 2.7 liter Bi-Turbo V6. I drove it once but never got a chance to see what it had. Disregarding the engine difference, the A6 is very comfortable to ride in and the inside's "fit and finish" is amazing. Much better than my Saab, I have to admit.
