'99-ish Range Rovers Posted by Justin VanAbrahams [Email] (#32) [Profile/Gallery] (more from Justin VanAbrahams) on Mon, 20 Dec 2010 11:34:40 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
I've read a few threads here in the past on Land Rovers, and thought I'd see if anyone has any other thoughts to lend on the topic. I'm looking at picking one up in the next few weeks to do combo-duty replacing my diesel Suburban and my girlfriend's 2WD Isuzu Rodeo. I need something to tow with, she needs something to get to work in, and we both need something to get up into the snow.
We've looked at Explorers/Mountaineers, Jeep Grand Cherokees and Discoverys, and the Land Rover is coming out on top. UHaul won't rent trailers to Explorers, so that's out. The Jeep and Discovery are nice, but neither are as nice on the road as the Range Rover.
Most of the Japanese SUVs I ruled out - 4Runners, Xterras, Pathfinders due to lack of power/towing ability. She ruled out Volvo XCs and Outbacks because she's not so sure about driving such an obvious mommy mobile at this point in her life. I really wanted to push for a GMT400 Tahoe/Yukon, but they're just too big for her to feel comfortable in.
So it really looks like Range Rovers... aside from the air suspension, anyone have any words of wisdom?
