Not a bad ride! Input as follows:
PRO's
1. Pretty strong motor - flat torque curve makes the car feel more like a larger displacmenet car. Although it doesn't have that strong turbo midrange I expected...
2. Nicely executed interior - good ergonomics, sweet nav system, better seats than in the S4 (IMHO)
3. Great brakes
4. AWD + stability control saved me once during the test drive (we were in the middle of a rainstorm) - don't ask!
5. Sort of a cool look - chunky but with the optional body kit, the black car looks almost menacing ;-)
6. You can definitely feel the difference in the three Advanced Suspension System settings
7. About $130-$170/month cheaper to lease than the S4
CONs
1. Exhaust sound can't even come close to the S4
2. Not as quick as the S4, but at least the S60R is chippable to 355HP!
3. Horrible, and I mean absolutely horrible turning radius :-(
4. Interior is nice but still not as well executed as the Audi (not a big surprise)
5. About $150/month more expensive to lease than a 9-5 Aero
6. Backseat is comparable to that of the S4 which means, it isn't great. Keeping in mind that I will have two car seats installed most of the time, I'm not too concerned.
7. Cache as compared to that of the S4. Not a big deal either as I've always driven the "unexpected alternative" (e.g. Porsche 944 Turbo instead of a 911, 9-3 Convertible in lieu of a BMW 3-series, etc...)
I have a few months to think about it so more input is welcome! BTW, as repects the TL and new Legacy, they are both solid performers but I'm a European car guy.
Regards,
Derek
