Tend to agree based on that picture. There is no such thing as a totally safe car - my job exposes me to all sorts of vehicular (and non-vehicular) carnage, and I have yet to see a specific brand or type of car that can answer all threats. There is always going to be that odd impact that pushes a car's safety design to its limits and chances are a) you can't possibly anticipate it and b) it will never happen to you. Based on reports, I think the 5 is a well-engineered car built from the ground up to support 3rd row passengers safely. I'm sure you can do worse, but short of something like a Suburban you probably can't do better... and with a Suburban, you're certainly giving up other, possibly more practical, safety concerns.
