What about a VW Passat or Jetta wagon? They seem to meet the requirements and are likely a bit more fun to drive and easier on gas. Volvo made FWD manual trans wagons until pretty recently as well. Or, um, the obvious mention, a Saab 9-5 wagon. If the SUV shape is more appealing a Mistu Outlander is available with FWD and a stick too and don't forget about the Jeep Compass which is similar to the Patriot (I'm not at all clear on the difference actually) since I'm guessing you'll have to look pretty hard to find either with the manual.
