Starting to see a few around and they look better in the flesh then they did in pictures. Looks like they might have added some body accents that help. They do still look kind of squinty eyed when you stand next to them. But what I don't get is the price. I looked at a couple and they were all $30K plus--a Trail rated one is $35K. So these things are actually the same money as a Wrangler? Why build two vehicles that compete with each other in price and size? It fact for $35K I'd guess you could get a Grand Cherokee if you're careful with options. I thought the new Cherokee was going to go for mid-twenties, which would make some sense. I don't understand why manufacturers build vehicles so close together. Acura has a middle and top model but I can't for the life of me tell which is which. Cadillac makes three or four models that look so much alike I can't tell the smallest one from the biggest one on the road, plus a letter designation system that makes no sense. At least BMW has a 3 series, a 5 series, 7 series etc. which has some logic. Same thing with Buick--all their sedans look alike and seem to be the about same size. I think the Regal is the smallest. I don't get it, why make cars that compete with each other? Given the resale value and the fact it's much better, why would anyone buy a Trail Rated Cherokee over Wrangler for the same money? Their biggest competition to their new model is themselves--seems dumb.
