This is certainly an open ended question and depending on someones driving motives...you're definately going to get varied response.
I recently sold my '99 Viggen after owning it 2 years and during that time my gf bought a 9-5 Aero which I drove often. In many ways I liked the 9-5 because of the 4 door approuch to practicality while maintaining comfort, handling, and plenty of power (if you drive in sport mode...automatic). But if I ever were to own a 9-5 Aero I would definatly put "Viggen like" suspension in it.
The Viggen suspension IMO was extremely good. Especially at higher speeds...It would seem to get better with speed. I remember a few corners that would have sent anything less straight off the road. But in all other catogories the Viggen was designed to outperform the Aero...and does. The Viggen takes it up a notch (or more).
I think comfort goes synonomous with Saab....so I don't think there is any worry there. I did find that if I were any bigger (fatter) I would have maxxed out the lumbar supports in the Viggen(6'3" 200#). As it was I had to remove everything from my back pockets to sit comfortably.
Go test drive them both... If its performance and excitement you want to go with the Viggen. If you want to do everything (passengers, performance, predictability) go with the Aero.
