The theory for performance basically states that the faster the air moves away from the engine the better. But what should this apply too? The exhaust manifold or the downpipe? Here is what I am trying to sort out:
- do I design an exhaust header on my 95 9000 so that I can make my downpipe as straight as possible? In this design, the turbo would be moved further to the car's left to accomodate a straighter downpipe. However, the length of the exhaust pipe on cylinder's 1 and 2 would likely be longer then on cylinders 3 and 4.
OR
- do I design a header with equal length tubing for all cylinders and keep the turbo in the same place as factory?
Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated!!
