the idea on developing the manifold for my 9-5 was simple....it has to fit a top mount gt-30 within the given confines of the 9-5 body. a top mount also allowed the turbo intake pipe to be straight, a nice improvemet over the stock unit with 2x90 degree bends. i'm sure that the tube lengths are not equal and it flows enough for close to 500hp with minimal lag. equal lengths would be nice but i would not use this parameter in developing your header. i would concentrate on airflow through the system as a whole, your first idea, rather than an equal length header. good luck with your header design and keep us posted.... as my 9000 feels a little slow these days!
