What I've learned from people like Brad and Corky Bell is that you don't want the hot expanding exhaust gases to dump into a large opening all at once. I go at a 7 degree included angle out to 3" and even make a 7 degree transition piece that goes from the exhaust wheel's exducer that matches the inside of the down-pipe flange (not included in picture) http://www.saabnet.com/tsn/bb/performance/index.html?bID=112748 In your application there's not enough room to do this with the lengths I had available on the ice race car but my point is that your 2 1/2" transition probably should have been from the turbo to 3" all the way back with no reduced sections. The only pictures of the Group 9 9000 Aero 3" system I helped design are in a computer that's not on line yet, I'll see if one of our computer gurus can snag them with a disk so I could send them from this computer. Anyway it's the best I've seen for a 9000T where there's limited space and they worked great! Dave
