Hey everyone,
I have to do something under the hood with my 89' convertible, it's been in storage for a few years now with some slight bottom end noise. (it wasn't going to give me 500hp so I stored it) I want to go through the whole car and breathe some life into it the old girl, so it's total engine re-build time or maybe this project. I might be biased, but that convertible is one of the nicest that I have seen, I would love to have something unique to go under the hood to inspire it again. I especially would love to have the balance shafts in the buzzy (but beautiful) classic.
Sooo........has anyone dropped a NG B204 into a classic yet? I'm not talking about a transverse swap (....although that project has been on my to-do list for a while now) rather a logitudinal OE swap with the C900 trans. I will definitely be going with DI....maybe even T-5 like Damien's. I know that the head angles are different and the recip. assembly would have to be re-worked, but would this be all? Not having AC would eliminate a lot of that problem as well as reverting back to the V-belts(if possible). I have seen this swap done on a highly modded C900 in Sweden and the hood closed without modification. Many of you have seen that car, I think it was the fastest C900 in Sweden? Anyway, far from stock but it did fit nicely AND I have a NG 2.0 just sitting here.... ;o) Any thoughts? Let's hear it...... TIA!
