My experience re corners and braking:
1) Braking rate is limited by tires - you cannot brake any faster than the tires let you. If you can lock up the brakes or trigger the ABS, bigger rotors & pads won't stop you any faster.
2) Bigger rotors & pads will manage the thermal load better - and the ducting JustinB recommended will do the same thing. That will prevent brake fade, as will pads designed for higher temp - I use HAWK HPS in front; rear seems to make no difference at my skill level.
3) I track my daily driver - a 2000 9-5 Aero - and in order of limiting my lap times:
A) My ability - Seat time the only cure; practice, practice, practice.
B) Cornering: The stock Aero suspension is not bad, but nowhere near what it needs to be. Car leans a lot in corners, that kills traction. So any mods that keep the car flatter in the corner will help. My gut (and seeing where I loose time to the other guy) says this will significantly exceed any gain from an LSD, at a lot lower cost.
And an item with stiffer sway bars - Great for flattening the car on the track, but a lot easier to lose the rear end on rough roads - if you only track the car that's a good trade off, but if it's a daily driver you can over do it.
