I have extensive saab experiance with hundreds of hours of research into reverse engineering of the saab controller area network .
the system uses a motorola based mc68332 32 bit microcontroller chip, that
uses embedded type software. The controllers are siemens powered nodes.
the can bus is an an82526 which is upgraded to an82627.
This system has to have proprietary software to reset and control it.
The GM scantech2 tool is used to flash the memory with in the various components. The problem with saab stuff is it uses a watchdog security system that disables the system completely if messed with non-logically.
If any one else has some inter in this area contact me for a discussion.
