Wow! The difference Trionic's processor and the 8039 is like the difference between a 9000 Aero and a bicycle. The 8039 doesn't even have a "subtract" instruction.
Ubipa, if the 2.4.2 also uses this processor, then you have your answer, as the 8039 was the non-mask-ROM variant of the mask-ROMmed 8049. I suspect it uses something a bit more upbeat, though.
On the Lucas systems, these appear to have been used quite a bit by the Rover Group. I didn't find much on the CU14, which seems only to have been used by Saab, but the 14CUX, which appears to be similar, was used in a lot of Rover vehicles and derivatives (such as TVR, which use Rover-derived engines). I didn't find what you are looking for, but I did find the following link about ECU tuning on a TVR website, which mentions the 14CUX.
There are some other references in that article that might be worth pursuing if you're keen.
