it appears to me that he is suggesting just the opposite of what you say....time to mail all your crack to ME.
"I took her out for a few minutes of city and a few minutes of 70-80 MPH on the highway. My first impressions are a slight loss of torque, compensated by a crazy whooshing sound of the intake when I nail the gas. There's some increased turbo sound as well. It's inefficient as all hell and really fun to tool around in. At least the car runs and I can get to work tomorrow.
I'm going to keep this setup for a few days, but once my K&N 33-2165 comes in, I think the stock airbox assembly is going back in. Disassembling the airbox showed me that the stock setup is actually well done, with a good attempt made at cool air delivery. Any solution taking on air from the engine compartment simply cannot match this, in my opinion. Pay all you want, but there are some fundamentals here we cannot ignore. Perhaps if my solution could take a 90 degree turn downward from the mass air flow meter, and things actually fit, we could come close. Even still...
Food for thought, ideas for the future. "
